Enjoy the tranquil setting of Meadow Farm, located on 50 acres of fields and woods, including a waterfront on a pristine lake providing swimming and canoeing.
The historic 1770 authentic New England colonial home was tastefully restored by the present innkeepers over thirty years ago, maintaining the original character with period furnishings.
A hearty country breakfast is served in front of the original wood burning fireplace in the keeping room and includes Meadow Farm’s fresh eggs and herbs, and specialty baked items.
From the rustic screen porch or patio, one can observe the horses grazing in the fields, and take a walk through the perennial gardens and along the county lane that leads to the lake.
Meadow Farm is conveniently located one and one hours from Boston, three quarters of an hour from the NH and Me. coast and a half hour from Concord ,the state capitol.
This is the second year that I have visited the Barnstead area of NH and the second time staying at Meadow Farm B&B. Janet and Douglas are some of the nicest folks I have met. They have interesting lives to share and are simply great to talk to. Their facility is a refreshing change from the techno madness that we are bombarded with daily. A real retreat. Breakfast is unmatched. Janet is a true chef in the kitchen. Her omelets and potatoes are great... especially her "Bismarck". Thanks you for the wonderful stays.
